  2. Do NOT eat after your cut-off time. That includes drinks with calories.
  3. Choose your breakfast time and stick to it.
  4. If you choose to exercise, do it before your first meal or snack. You will burn much more that way.
  5. Do NOT skip meals or snacks. If you lower your daily calorie intake, your body will adjust to that amount being your normal daily intake. You will gain when you start eating the old amount again.

Your plan can change depending on your body and your schedule.

If you make a change, stick to it.

Don’t change your life to fit the plan, change the plan to fit your life.


The Basics For MetaFire Life Weight Loss

  • Men: aim for the higher calorie level. Women: the lower calorie level. (included below)
  • Only water and black coffee or tea during your fasting periods.
  • Your calorie period can get shorter, your fasting period can’t. If you can get your full calories in 6 hours and you like it, do it.
  • Stay within your start and stop times.
  • Take MetaBurn 30 minutes before your first snack/meal and 30 minutes before your main meal. It gives energy, cranks up metabolism and reduces appetite.
  • Keep a minimum 2 hour period between snacks/meals.
  • A later first meal gives better energy, focus and results during the day.

For the MetaFire 72 Plan, you will need to prepare an electrolyte mix.


Electrolyte Mix

Your body will take care of itself except for electrolytes during MetaFire 72. You need to mix an electrolyte solution and drink it as you would water. You only do this during the MetaFire 72 plan.

The mix is simple:

  • 2 L Purified Water
  • 1/2 – 1 tsp. Table Salt
  • 1/2 – 1 tsp. Potassium Chloride (often sold as “No Salt”)

Start at 1/2 tsp each and work your way up. Your body will adjust quickly.


MetaFire 72 Weight Loss

The MetaFire 72 Plan works hand-in-hand with the MetaFire Life Plan.

The MetaFire Life Plan is the long-term lifestyle to keep your ideal weight for the rest of your life.

MetaFire 72 burns body fat faster than any other method, in order to get you to your ideal weight (size) quickly. It takes the intermittent fasting element of the MetaFire Life plan and extends it to 72 hours. That means you will not eat or drink anything with calories for 72 hours, then return to the MetaFire Life plan. This will be repeated weekly or bi-weekly until you get close to your ideal weight, then it can be reduced to 48 hours and finally 24 hours when you are a few pounds away.

Keep in mind that while in the fasting state, your body will only feel “hungry” a few times a day to remind you that you should be looking for food. You will not feel like you are starving.

Electrolytes

Since abstaining from food or drinks that contain calories means you will not consume electrolytes, you will drink the solution described above during the 72 hours. If you fast for three days without replenishing electrolytes, most of the weight you will lose will be water. If you are losing water weight, the results will disappear as soon as you start consuming electrolytes again.

Autophagy

What Not To Do

Since you will not have protein intake during the fasting period of the MetaFire 72 Plan, do NOT perform any resistance training (weights) on your no-calorie days.

Cardio exercise is allowed and recommended.

Lifting weights breaks down muscle tissue so that it grows back bigger and stronger.

Without protein, your muscles will get smaller as the damaged tissue is recycled.

Less muscle means less calorie burn.

Resistance training while fasting hurts your efforts more than helping.

  1. Hi and thanks for sharing this. There is much in the outline of this plan that makes sense to me. Like many other people, I have had a checkered history with diets. I have done Slimfast a number of times and it worked each time within a couple of months. But then, slowly thereafter the bad habits resume. Also when I was much younger I got into a habit of fasting one day a week. That actually worked well but I found it sometimes difficult to maintain on days when I was obliged to be active. What I have learned here from your article is that it makes sense to increase the number of fasting hours in a 24 hour period. I also feel this is something I could readily do. The other important component I have found is portion size and educating your appetite to expect smaller portions. Thanks for this. Best regards, Andy

      Thanks for reading.
      The difference between fasting for a day and fasting every day is quite simple. Having a fasting day once a week will do all the things mentioned, but also resets your burn rate. You will be much less hungry the other 6 days and your BMR (basal metabolic rate) will level out. Fasting a little more every day makes your BMR stay consistent throughout the week and you have ketosis kick in every day.
      It makes for a much more reliable fat burn.

    Your intro piqued my interest because I totally agree with it! Yes, the best weight loss plan is one that makes it possible to lose weight as easily as possible. If it isn’t then you have already set yourself up for failure.

    I am intrigued by the simplicity of this plan and would definitely like to try it out. However, I would like to know what happens after I complete the program? Is there anything I need to do at that time to stop the pounds returning?

      Welcome to the MetaFire Life.

      The thing with our plan is that there is no “end”. You are learning to eat in a way that keeps weight off, keeps your energy up, and keeps you focused.
      Why would you stop with all of that to gain every day?
      Once you have gotten into the habits of our plan (it takes 90 days to truly develop a habit), you will want to keep going!
      You will see the benefits long before they become a habit, which makes it easier than dieting.
      A diet is restricting yourself and expecting an end-date. It is also usually restricting yourself in a way that you don’t particularly enjoy. That makes it hard to see benefits, even if they are there.

      However, if you eat what you want (at certain times), and still see results (with or without exercise), chances are you won’t start to hate it.

      That makes it easy to stick to.
